Extravagantly beautiful in every season, rich with wildlife, birdsong tumbling from the mature trees, the nearly two-hundred acre piece of Pennsylvania countryside is now available to purchase.

From the two acre spring-fed pond, where you can swim with game fish, to the hidden meadows perched atop the two ridges, this location is unique in all it offers.

The land is bordered by game lands and farms. Solitude is yours, but with friendly and helpful neighbors! When many homesteads are locked in by winter, this one offers every winter sport but down-hill skiing—in your own backyard! Sledding down gentle slopes or challenging trails, cross-country skiing at its best, snowmobiling on ridge trails, snowshoeing and ATV riding offer daily fun. And don’t forget ice skating on your own pond

Spring, Summer and Autumn? Well, pick your sport! The house is on a bicycle route utilized by the professionals training for the Tour de Toona race. Fish and hunt, or post your nearly two hundred acres as a wildlife preserve. Your choice. Swim and boat in the two-acre pond. ATV and dirt bike riding, hiking, bird spotting, and mountain biking are easily accommodated on your very own trails.

Locally, bicycle trails abound, including quick and easy access to the famed Chesapeake and Ohio Canal bike trail and camping, biking, and horseback towpath all the way from Hancock, MD to Washington D.C. Kayaking and canoe trips are easy, and some are guided, on the local Juniata River. Raystown Lake with big-boat fun is within driving distance. Shawnee Lake offers more local water sports and fishing. Hikers have access to all of the well-known trails and many that are local attractions. Local sporting clubs offer archery and shooting ranges, too.

If you are interested in spectator sports, you have the Altoona Curve minor league baseball team, stock car racing at the Bedford Speedway, and easy access to big city sporting events—including shopping—in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, PA! Rarely does a location with this much to offer appear in the marketplace.

History? George Washington and the Whisky Rebellion are stars in the re-enactment themes at Old Bedford Village. Gettysburg is an easy day trip, with all it offers in the way of historical detail. Other battlefields are even closer. Antique shops will offer you all of the historical artifacts you could ever desire.

Horse Ready! Always wanted horses? The stable under the barn is ready—all you need are the horses and the feed. The pasturage is available and ready. White paddock fences already encircle the grazing areas. Add a circular pen for training, set up jumps on the flat meadows, ride on the trails through the forests to the ridge-top meadows with enchanting views.

The nearly two century-old house offers fine shelter. A game room with comfortable seating and a pool table entices you in the quiet evenings. Or read and loaf in the living room in front of the wood-burning fireplace. Watch the deer in the field—this year the doe had twin fawns—or just lounge on the overlook deck. Bask in the sunroom on cold winter days.

The surrounding area is renowned for its beauty. Hancock, MD and its proposed high-speed commuter train are an easy commute. Interstate 70 is within reach in moments. Breezewood, PA is the hub for East-West and North-South interstate travel. Everett, PA is a friendly town with good shopping. Bedford is a renowned historical and tourist site, and its Fall Foliage Festival is a big event here in South Central Pennsylvania. An easy drive will place you at one of the many local golf courses, and we expect the $108 million Bedford Springs Hotel to reopen in the spring. Exciting nightly entertainment and a gourmet restaurant are just a couple of the expected delights anticipated. For sumptuous getaway days, antique hunting and an incredible spa experience are available in Berkley Springs, WV, less than an hour away!

Clearville, the site of this property, is a rural village. This is a middle and upper income area with no urban problems—residents are so secure we leave our cars running at the local businesses and post office, don’t bother to lock our doors, and would laugh at the notion of locking our cars—at home or in town.

Consider this introduction to the picture-tour of this unique property as an invitation to come look in person. And remember that the PA Commonwealth motto is; “You’ve got a friend in Pennsylvania!”
